Tindle races 'Dozer to semi-finals at Southern Outlaw event
(8-21-2008) MONTGOMERY, AL – Tim Tindle drove his Tindle Enterprises' GT 500E Promod Mustang to his second semifinal finish of the 2008 season Sunday at Montgomery Motorsports Park. With the help of Quain Stott, the 2007 NHRA Promod Rookie of the Year continues to improve as he prepares for the prestigious Matco Tools U.S. Nationals at O'Reilly Raceway Park.
After a day of qualifying his Promod Mustang in the top half of the field (No.4) at the Southern Outlaw Promod Tour, Tindle defeated Ron Stokes, before falling to his hometown comrade Joe Baker after a tire shake in the semi-finals.

Sport Compact thrills set for Willowbank Raceway this weekend
(8-21-2008) WILLOWBANK, QLD – Willowbank Raceway will play host to Australia’s largest Sport Compact drag racing event – the Castrol EDGE Jamboree - this weekend August 23 and 24.
Complete with a full off-track support program and the Grand Final of the Toyo Tires Sport Compact Drag Racing Series, the adrenalin will run high with as many as nine of the 11 class championships yet to be decided.
On top of the points chase, National Records are also set for a beating with the event traditionally one to see many of the speed and time records fall.
Sports Compact Group Manager Ray Box said the gloves will be off in a weekend of non-stop action packed racing.

Wilson family finds success
(8-19-2008) MOORESVILLE, NC – Tony Wilson Jr. may be young in age at just 21, but he has driving experience beyond his years. Tony Dale, as he is known at Mooresville Dragway has been driving on the track since he was a 6 year old kid. Together with this sister Tisha he graduated from Jr. dragster to dragster to the car he has now, a '98 Monte Carlo. Racing is a family affair for the Wilsons. Tisha has taken the job as tuner, and has proven to be quite good at it. Tony Wilson Sr. helps with maintenance at the track. Teresa Wilson, affectionately known as Momma Wilson, is the cook and makes sure everyone in the vicinity of the Wilson pit has something to eat.

(8-19-2008) BAKERSFIELD, CA – Kelly Bluebaugh and Team AutoTrader took the Pro Street victory from the 4th position at the West Coast Hot Rod Associations (WCHRA) Team Performance Products, Shootout at Sundown at the Famoso Dragway in Bakersfield, California August 15th-16th, 2008.
The win was really a double victory as Bluebaugh and Crew Chief Deborah Woodard have been working towards getting the AutoTrader Monte Carlo back into the 6.40’s.

Weatherford scores big win at Orangeburg Dragstrip
(8-18-2008) ORANGEBURG, SC – The WS Construction Pro Modified race team with Randy Weatherford behind the controls took on all comers at Orangeburg and was the last one standing. Randy and the crew made the trip down to Gator Alley from Providence NC for the first time this year.
After the final round of qualifying Randy looked to be the man to beat when his ‘63 Corvette covered the 1/8 mile with a 3.99 at 174. Steve Vick sat in the #2 spot with his 4.02 at 180. Terry Brown is latest PMRA winner
(8-18-2008) ST-PIE, QUE – It can never be said that the Pro Modified Racing Association presented by Torco Racing Fuels Ontario produces the same race winners each event.
For the running of Third Annual Eaton PMRA Challenge presented by Eaton at the Sanair, Terry Brown joined the group of PMRA event winners with his victory over the weekend.
“This is terrific,” said the Caledonia, Ontario racer. “It’s a long drive to Sanair, but it was sure worth it for our team,” added the driver of the 1971 Dodge Challenger Pro Modified.
“I especially want to thank Jason Greenland and Paul Brown for their help in this victory. I also want to thank Melanie for her help.”

Humphreys loses close quarter-final race at Reading
(8-18-2008) READING, PA – Justin Humphreys just shook his head, trying to get the frustration of losing to his teammate and engine supplier Allen Johnson Sunday in the Pro Stock quarterfinals of the Toyo Tires Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway.
Johnson's winning margin was a paltry nine-thousandths of a second, but the difference came at the starting line. Humphreys had a .044 reaction time to Johnson's .032, but Humphreys' RaceRedi Motorsports Dodge had the quicker time, 6.653 seconds at 207.34 mph to a 6.655 at 207.08.
