(7-29-2008) CRESWELL, NC – The East Coast ProGlides rolled onto the track Saturday July 19 at Outer Banks Speedway. It was a hot humid day that started with rain showers but that did not stop the ground shaking heart pounding show from going on.
After the rain showers, the crew at Outer Banks Speedway dried and prepped the track and had it ready for the 4 second Pro Mods to heat up the asphalt . Although the rain cooled down the track, the air was “thick” and humid making it a challenge to tune the cars.
After two rounds of qualifying Steve Bray in his blown 2007 Cobra Mustang was number one qualifier with a 4.39 at 162.33 MPH and Jamie Teachman in the “Nightwing” cutlass was number two with a 4.41 at 167.36MPH.
During the semi’s the “Gotham City” Bel Air driven by Brian Teachman and the “Nighting” Cutlass driven by Jamie Teachman were paired up. It was bound to happen. A sight it was ,as the two cars pulled up to the line and did side by side burnouts. After the smoke cleared, the cars inched their way to the lights and all eyes were on the duo to see which brother would go home with bragging rights. Jamie ran a 4.34 at 171.52 MPH taking the win over Brian who ran a 4.52 at 144.70 MPH . Todd Merritt took the win over Steve Bray . Todd went on to win the race with a 4.52 at 159.48MPH over Jamie Teachman.
