Whats the best position for the rotor when firing. I'm pulling out 20 degrees total with two stages of nitrous. Initial timing is 32 degrees. I've phased the rotor at 12 degrees with the rotor lined up perfectly with the terminal but the car sounds like crap during warm up etc when running only on the C16 alone. Its a front mounted belt driven distributor with crank trigger set-up. Thanks, Wayne

Have you tried splitting the difference at phase it at 22*. You should really be check the phase with a timing light. Find an old dist cap and either use a Dremel or a drill and make about a 3/8 hole just inside from #1 tower but right next to the tower. Also make a jumper to activate all your retards at idle then shine the light through the hole and see where the rotor really is. I also put a dab of white paint on the rotor and a spot on the lip of the hole in the cap. It makes it real easy.

When you say the car sounds like crap when warming up does it sound OK warming up if the rotor is phased at 32*?

Hi, I did set it up just as you suggested, with timing light, hole in dist etc etc. When the cars phased to 32* it sounds crisp and fine. Its only when phased to 12*. Maybe phasing to 22* would be the answer, as long as she's still getting a good spark under full load with nitrous. Wayne
