LenMar invited the Texas Back Half Outlaws to run with the Promods for the 1st race at the all new Dallas Raceway. A lot of the drivers had been anxious to get to try out the newest and nicest track in the state of Texas. And they got their chance.
With all things new there was a lot of confusion on what, who and where. But after time I am sure that the staff will gain experience.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the all new Dallas Raceway as far as the way the facility looked and sounded. Big Don is one of the best announcers you will ever want at your track!
We had 15 cars show for the 1st time event and they were ready to be put to the test. I don't have the right paperwork to give you the RT's this time, but, I can give you the round by round wrap up.
Round 1:
Butch Johnson (Bye) Bad Azz 55 Chevy
Greg Green (W) Awesome SB 67 Deuce
Marc McClaskey (L) Beautiful Full Size Chevy Truck
Nathan (W) Nice Red Stang
Kelly Duncan (L) Pro Style Blue Luv Truck
JoJo Melton (W) Dark Mysterious Turbo Camaro
Russ Teager (L) Fired up Nova
Lil Fernando (W) Quick Lil Baby Fly Luv Truck
Tony Malone (L) Bad Cat Cougar

Tony Thorn (Fouled) Green 69 Camaro
Tony's transbrake did not hold on this one and when he rolled in it kept rolling.
Blake McBride (W) Outstanding Multicolor Duece
Peggy James (L) She Devil Camaro
Peggy's unfortunate luck here was that she had no nitrous.
Gerald Bennett (W) Quick Silver Box Deuce
Pat McKinney (Fouled) Nice 69 Camaro
Pat got a little anxious here and went red.
Round 2:

Too much muscle here for the 55 Chevy to get by.
JoJo Melton (W)
Greg Green (L)
Really good race here as Greg chops the tree down and is giving it all the little small block had!
Lil Fernando (W)
Gerald Bennett (L)
This was a heckova race as Lil Fernando chop the tree down for a good holeshot and was out on Gerald and Gerald was trying to run him down and ran out of real estate. Good job Guys!
Blake McBride (W)
Nathan (L)
Something broke here on Nathan's stang and that let Blake go for a single run.
Semi's:
JoJo Melton (W)

This was the 2nd time for these two to meet up. The last race they had was an unbelievable race with JoJo giving it away to Albert when Albert had him on a holeshot. This time JoJo wasn't giving anything away! This was a good race between them. They were equal at the 60', 330 was almost equal and then JoJo started to pull away. Then from there it was JoJo to the win light for a fair run.

Lil Fernando was outta there and Blake just seemed to go away. He had no nitrous. So, the motor pass just couldn't hold up.

This was a nice Final for the 1st race at Dallas Raceway. JoJo and Lil Fernando made history for the Texas Back Half Outlaws on the all new Dallas Raceway track. And it was nice to get to see them come back up the parade road to the tower for pics by Chris (fuelcarfan) and interviews by Big Don.
Congrats to Melton Motorsports on your Win and congrats to Lil Fernando on your Runner Up!
