(11-13-2009) KWINANA BEACH, WA – Holden and Maurice Fabietti – a truly ‘Fabulous’ racing partnership and an awesome, new look!

From what started out as humble beginnings driving a radical Gemini years ago, to an ease-in relationship with Holden several seasons ago – Sydneysider Maurice Fabietti’s relationship with the iconic Aussie car brand has reached new heights and has entered the mainstream.

The unveiling of the new Holden Trade Club Monaro Top Doorslammer is sure to turn heads everywhere in readiness for the next round of ANDRA Pro Series action via the Goldenstates event at the Perth Motorplex.

“The new Holden Trade Club livery looks awesome doesn’t it? The other car looked good, but the new truck and trailer with the new car is really something,” beamed Fabietti about his new look for his 3,000 horsepower car.

The re-brand represents a new tact on marketing Holden Parts, and they have chosen this fast Doorslammer car as the figurehead for the parts programme. Nationally.

“Throughout Holden we have been embraced as the figurehead for the Holden Trade Club program. For them to chose Drag racing as the hub of this program is enormous for the sport and credit to the ANDRA Pro Series and our team too.”

With attention now turning to the Perth Motorpex this weekend, Fabietti comes to the Golden West hot on the heels of his annual American sojourn.

“Heading to the USA serves a lot of purposes, to obtain parts replenishment, catch up with suppliers for my engine business as well as network with some other Drag Racers about where everything is at. We have been in three different time Zones in 48 hours so I am still getting my act together in readiness for the weekend.”

Fabietti has had a love/hate relationship with the state-of-the-art Perth venue, but comes here with more confidence, more potential to perform well than at any stage in his career – not just for the Goldenstates event win, but also in pursuit of an ANDRA Pro Series Championship.

“Our first priority is to qualify, before we get cocky about contending for any race win. There will be 12-quality cars there and we cannot take anything for granted. We are in good shape in the Championship, started great in Queensland and then paid the price with the wrong lane choice in Sydney, the car jumped into neutral, produced too much wheel speed and then over-powered the track, that’s the fine line we walk in such a tough category.”

So it goes without saying, Fabietti needs to nail the track tune-up at the Perth Motorplex this weekend.

“Perth has a great reputation for having a good racing surface. We haven''t run with this stout combo at Perth before so there''s an element of uncertainty.

Last time I was here we were a genuine battler and this time we are gunning for a Championship.

We are in the best position I have been in Doorslammer, the team is right in the picture.”

With the precious ANDRA Pro Series Bonus Points picture included, the Goldenstates shapes up as a key round for the Holden Trade Club Monaro.
