What's the best fluid to run in a power glide? i know there is b&m trick shift and royal purple, but i have heard of people running a hydraulic fluid Or tractor oil? any suggestions welcome. thanks jeff

Hey Jeff, Trick Shift is good, we are trying to confirm with neal chance about the hydraulic fluid.

I've always used Mobil 1 synthetic tranny fluid for an automatic. I also hear good things about Brad Penns, and Catepillars.

B & M still makes tranny fluid? Do they still come in the old school oil cans where you have to puncture the top with the funnel?

I run Redline Synthetic Type F. My buddies car we run John Deere Hyguard.

The cheapest type F you can find!!!!! I have used every thing from synthetic to hydraulic av32 and av45 but have never hurt anything using type F,my trans guy told me to use it.Have it in 5 cars and NEVER have problems.:)

Hey Guys, I agree. Type F is as good as any and less expensive. Just don't mix with something else!!

X2 .....type F has never failed with us. 3 powerglides with 0 problems.

What have you guys heard about AMS synthetic universal tranny fluid?

We do use tractor oil in the lenco. Stuff smells like burnt tranny fluid and its clear fluid. TSR transmission in NH. has been trying the hydrolic/tractor fluid in test transmissions. I have not heard yet but he is trying it. I will let you know what I find out.

90% of the guys running bottom 70's and 60's are running tractor fluid, can u say john deer green in their lenco drives. 100 deg cooler than mobile 1 or trick shift.
