Capitol Raceway closes out July with a huge three race weekend
(7-23-2012) CROFTON, MD – Since Capitol Raceway reopened under their new management of Raceway Promotions, the track has had one great race weekend after another. The upcoming weekend is slated to be their biggest yet.
First up, on Friday July 27th, Capitol Raceway is offering a free event for the first 25 7.80 and quicker dragsters and first 25 8.80 and quicker door cars. These 50 entries will race for an incredible $1,000 and all for free. Racers must register by emailing
info@capitolraceway.net. Runner up pay is $250 and $100 for semis. No drag radials permitted into this particular event.
The second race of the weekend is a Pro Mod Showdown. Pro Mods are back every fourth weekend at Capitol. They’ll be going all out on Friday, shooting for that number one qualifying spot. Saturday they are the main event as they battle it out for the payday and crowned as King of the Hill.
The weekend continues to build as Capitol Raceway invites anyone with a grudge to bring it to the Hill on Sunday. Cars, trucks, bikes, you-name-it, will be on hand to resolve their grudges. Plus, the legend Billy Glidden will ascend the Hill to take on local favorite, Chuck Ulsch, driving Gill Mobley’s earth-shaking Camaro. These two will throw down in a best two out of three for bragging rights. A second high profile match features Pro Modifieds Larry Plummer and Ed Burnley. It’s a Sunday you won’t want to miss as Capitol Raceway makes history and bragging rights are on the line. Simply put, “bring it, don’t sing it.”
Crew and spectators, a two day pass is just $30 or come see the entire three race weekend for just $40.
