Quick 8 Outlaws return to Darlington Dragway this Saturday

(8-28-2012) HARTSVILLE, SC – The Quick 8 Outlaws are scheduled to make their final appearance of the 2012 season at the “House of Speed”, Darlington Dragway this Saturday. If you want to see Pro Modified racing at its best make sure to be at Darlington. Also, remember this race is open to any transmission and there is no membership fee.

The owners of Darlington Dragway Ronnie Siders and Russell Miller and their staff have done a phenomenal job this season. The track is always prepared and ready for the Quick 8 Outlaws. The e.t.'s and speed have proven that. A perfect example was at the first event Robbie Matthews driving the Kauffman Motorsports '57 Chevy laid down a 3.84 at 194. This was done with a roots blower and Powerglide transmission.

Going into this event the man with the most momentum has to be Ric Fleck. After several runner-up finishes Ric and the crew broke through and picked up their first win. They haven't stopped there, they now have been to several finals and picked up a couple wins. Also, look for the track record holder Kauffman Motorsports '57 Chevy with wheel man Robbie Matthews. Look for the World's fastest roots blown doorslammer, Danny Blankenship's '40 Ford. You also expect to see Danny's '41 Willys there too. William Joseph driving his Father Tom's Camaro will also be there. “Young Blood” Tyler Miller will be there trying to defend his home turf. Another hot racer, Troy Jordan in the Blade Runner Camaro will be there trying to score another win. Legendary Chassis builder and multi-time World Champion Tommy Mauney will be there too.

Look for the living Legend Sonny Tindal this Saturday. Greg Godwin in the G and B Motorsports nitrous assisted '63 Vette is always a contender when he is at the track. After getting some needed repairs to his Mustang, Steve Bray and crew will make there return to the track Saturday. Making the trip up from the “House of Hook” will be Jeff Miles in the Dobbs Racing Corvette. Jeff Miller in his turbocharged doorslammer will also be there. Look for Pro Stock Racer John Montecalvo in his new ride. Look for Donnie Holdren and many others at the House of Speed.

The gates open at 9:00 with the first round of the Quick 8 Outlaws qualifying at 3:00, the second round will be at 4:30 and the final round will be at 6:00. The first round of eliminations will be at 7:00. General admission is $20.00 with Children 12 and under free.
