Santos breaks through for first win
GRAND BEND, ON – Jay Santos, of Milton, Ontario and his Santos Motorsports '69 Camaro Pro Mod have been diligently laboring for the love of Pro Mod racing. Santos Motorsports dedication and hard work paid off on September, 1 2012 as the team netted its first Pro Mod win at the Grand Bend Motorplex during the rained out Cayuga Dragway event for the PMRA Series.
Santos drove his G-Force Race Cars-built Camaro down the damp Motorplex ¼ mile strip in fine fashion running 6.18 @ 238 mph to beat fellow Ontarian Derek Hawker for his first PMRA win. A happy Santos stated, “Man I can’t say enough about my team, my Car Chief Tex, Crew members Jamie, Joe, Carlos, Josh, my tuners Jim and Jon Salemi, and my engine builder Mike Stawicki. With out every one of these people I couldn’t have achieved a win as quickly as I did.”
With the PMRA season complete the Santos Motorsports team plans to head to the Shakedown at E-Town door car spectacular on October 12-14 in Englishtown, New Jersey. The team hopes to improve on its personal best of 6.07 @ 240 mph.
