(9-21-2012) HATTIESBURG, MS – The owners of Hub City Raceway (formerly Hub City Dragway), Hattiesburg, Mississippi would like to introduce Bonnie Webb as Director of Operations effective, September 19, 2012. She has signed a multi-year contract for the purpose of developing and executing an intense racing program for the racers and spectators within Mississippi and surrounding states. Please help us welcome her as she relocates to the area and begins the task of putting Hub City Raceway back on the map.
Being a Georgia native, Bonnie Webb has been involved in drag racing her entire life. Her father was a racer and she married a racer, Larry Webb, who moved her to Houston, Texas over 30 years ago. After making the decision to retire from her corporate position after 20 years of service, Bonnie found herself with too much idle time on her hands and started dabbling into securing sponsorship for some of her racing friends. Her efforts proved successful. She then moved to working with other Promoters, learning the ins and outs of what it takes to successfully promote both the racing facility and the race teams involved in major events. It was only a matter of time before she pulled together a 20K to win Outlaw 10.5 event called Maximum Impact in Houston and a second event, The TireMax High Velocity Impact Race with a 25K to win Outlaw 10.5 purse in Baytown, Texas. These events brought race teams from all over the country, which proved to be a real Texas vs. The World event in attendance.
From this point, Bonnie decided it was time to take the next step and run a series of races with came to be known as OTTA (Outlaw True Ten Association), to include Ultimate Street, and soon after Texas 8.5's, but also continued to host her Texas vs. The World event once a year, outside of the OTTA races. Bonnie successfully continued the series for a nine-year period until June 2012. She has now decided to shoot at the moon by taking the reins at Hub City Raceway. Bonnie plans to run a variety of programs in 2013 to include Heads-up Outlaw, Grudge Racing, Bracket Racing, and a program for Jr. Dragsters.... And who knows, there may be a little Mud-Bogging going on from time to time as well.
As of this release, a finishing schedule for 2012 is currently in development. Bonnie would like to announce that the first Heads-up Outlaw event will be held in October, more details to follow...Right now a little test and tune and grudge racing is in order with a racers meeting scheduled on September 22nd to hear what it is that you want to see back down the track at the "NEW" Hub City Raceway.
