Quick 8 Outlaws World Finals set for this Saturday at Coastal Plains
(10-4-2012) JACKSONVILLE, NC – The Quick 8 Outlaws' final event of the 2012 season will be held at the Coastal Plains Dragway this Saturday. If you want to see the best Pro Modified drag racing in the South you need to be there this weekend.
With the rules that were announced earlier this year the Quick 8 Outlaws have had a very strong year. You don't have to worry about any weight or transmission rules when you race with the Quick 8 Outlaws.
At the last race at Orangeburg Dragstrip once again it was Ric Fleck and the Flex Racing Corvette that picked up yet another win. If you are keeping count that is now four wins in a row for Flex Racing. Can any of the Outlaws stop Fleck? You will have to be there to find out because Ric will be looking for another win.
After getting the runner-up finish at the last event Danny Blankenship will be there in the world's quickest roots blower equipped doorslammer, his '40 Ford. If you look at the Quick 8 Outlaws website (
www.q8outlaws.com) there is someone known only as the “Dragon Slayer” who says that he be there looking to take care of Fleck. Robbie Matthews in the Punisher Racing '57 Chevy will be there. Dwayne “the Hog Farmer” Silance in his '68 Camaro will be there defending his home turf. Look for the G & B Motorsports '63 Corvette with driver Greg Godwin. Steve Bray in his Back in Black Ford Mustang will also be there.
The Blade Runner Racing Camaro with driver Troy Jordan will be there. The Pirate Ship with Captian Kevin Mayer will be there looking to repeat his win from last year. Look for the living legend Sonny Tindal in his Grand Am. Multi-time world champion Tommy Mauney will also be there. Chris Cline in the blown Plymouth Fury dubbed Christine picked up a win not long ago and will be there trying to pick up another one. Look for Jr. Linton in his blown Duster. After making some very impressive passes in the Dobb's Racing 'Vette Jeff Miles will look to continue their success. Carol Long in the She Devil Motorsports '63 Corvette will also be there. Jeff Miller in his turbo equipped ride will be there. Expect to see Donnie Holdren and many other drivers there this weekend.
The gates will open at 11:00 with the first round of qualifying at 2:30, the second round will be at4:00 and the final round of qualifying will at 5:30.
General admission is $20.00 with children 12 and under free with paying adult.
