New PowerBoss sweeper scrubber arrives at Palm Beach International Raceway
(12-7-2008) JUPITER, FL – New equipment deliveries continue to arrive at Palm Beach International Raceway. A new PowerBoss sweeper scrubber was delivered to the track earlier this week to complement their rapidly growing arsenal.
Kelly Tractor/CAT delivered the unit to the track, issuing operating instructions to race staff members Steve DeAngelis, Larry Penny, Michael Clark and George Case. The new unit will speed up oil downs and track cleanup during events. Kirk Georgia from Kelly Tractor (sitting on scrubber) hands the keys to PBIR track manager, Michael Clark.
The annual Citrus Nationals, part of the perennial winter series, attracted much attention last weekend, good weather, good attendance, and a few useful comments from the NHRA officials who, favorably impressed, gave the track their thumbs-up.
Bruce Horner of the Horner Bros alcohol dragster from Bergenfield, NJ, reported though the shut-down area was bumpy, the track was smooth as glass and the traction was excellent.”
George Case said, “The Citrus Nationals gave us a great kick-off with the Sportsman classes. I’ve received dozens of emails, especially from Stock, Super Stock and Comp racers, telling of how much they enjoyed the venue, and that ‘someone finally understands how we [the racers] think.’ I was pleased with the event and hope to attract even larger numbers next year.”
Case and his able band are keen to build a record of success at PBIR in short order. Already, several NHRA Pro Stock and Top Fuel teams have booked private test sessions both this month (December) and next. If further teams are interested in winter testing, they can contact George Case at (561) 578-5623 or visit the PBIR website at
