S Kel and Camera Man, great meeting you yesterday hope you both had safe trips home.
We had some problems with the track yesterday, it got alot hotter than we ever expected it to. As a result the rubber was like bubble gum and we actually stopped in the middle of time runs for the bracket cars to scrape the track, TWICE. I believe I heard that the track surface temperatures were nearing the 130* mark. Still a tight feild for an awesome show.
Couples of quick notes. Ernie was actually in his old car. The Corvette proved to work for him good while his Camaro is getting to changes made to it. Jason Rouse was in only 2nd race and this was the first time he ran with 3 kits. I saw the jet spreads and the tune ups and trust, he is just getting started. And one of the most miraculous things I have ever seen in all of door slammer racing happened last night; Charles Kelley driving an absolutely beautiful S10 pickup had to run Kenny Ferguson first round in his black and flamed Grand Am. Kelley had problems with his burnout and after making 2 attempts backed it all the way back up in the water box again. Suddenly Kelley begins to purge the nitrous and was staging WITH WET TIRES. Ferguson and Kelley staged, light turned green, FERGUSON SHAKES, but that isn't the amazing part. Kelley drops the hammer and looking like he is riding on a string to post a 4.41 at over 160 MPH. Simply WOW.
Also want to mention Chris Croom, Bob Smith, and the BS Racing team were the only ones to make a full pull down the 660' during the SHAKEDOWN run posting up an impressive 4.34. Unfortunately they were not able to reproduce those numbers during qualifying or eliminations and the "nicest guy in drag racing" was out.

(Chris will know what thats about)
