Sorry.....Ive been so busy getting all the dirt out of my car....lol
7 teams were on hand at Midland for the AHRA Nitro Showdown. The Clark Brothers pulled an all night thrash to be there in their killer 1990 ProCharged Trans-Am PCTTFMF's, Ricky Wilson was on hand with his awesome blown hemi 1968 Camaro, Randall Taylor brought out his beautiful blown 1937 Chevy, Chuck Poindexter made the haul in his blown 1990 Berreta, Money Shot was there in the blown Corvette, David Houser was ready in his 3rd gen nitrous Camaro and Clint Satterfield brought out his wicked 665cid nitrous assisted S-10. After 1st round of qualifying we were down to 4 running cars. The Clarks broke a cam in the burnout and were unable to qualify, Chuck Poindexter dropped a valve at mid-track and Ricky Wilson threw a rod at mid-track (NICE SAVE)
We decided to match race each other for the next 2 rounds to fill the show out and crown the Top 2 E.T.'s of the events as Winner and Runner Up and split the purse evenly for those who qualified.
#1 Randall Taylor ran a 4.58 (Congrats on the top E.T. of the event)
#2 Randy Rencher ran a 4.63 (Ran off the end of the track when chute got tangled in wheelie bars)
#3 David Houser ran a 4.69 (Nice pass David)
#4 Ricky Wilson ran a 4.78 (If Ricky would have made a full pass we would have all been in trouble...lol)Welcome to TAO!!!
#5 Clint Satterfield ran a 5.03 (was fighting gremlins all day) Welcome to TAO!!!
#6 Chuck Poindexter ran a 5.30??? (Dropped a valve)
#7 Eric Clark DNQ (Broke in burnout)
We would like to thank Desert Thunder Raceway for giving us a perfect track after all the rain they had Friday. Thanks to LenMar Motorsports for the trophies. Thanks to all the long haul racers that made the trip. Special thanks to the AHRA Safety Crew. You guys were awesome.
Those Clark Bros. are a class act. Thrashed all night and drove for 6.5 hrs to make the show and just had some bad luck. You wont hear the Clarks give excuses like alot of folks do. Scotty simply said he will fix it and be back. Its guys like you that make this class a success. Our next race is at Wichita Falls on June 12th. Get'm tuned up and Ill see you all there. As always, Suppport those who support you!!
